Hey, it’s the New Year and that means you’re thinking about getting on a diet and exercising so you can enjoy the benefits of weight loss, right?
But if you’re anything like me you know how hard it can be. Please, do not start without first checking out these 5 tips. You’ll be kicking yourself for not thinking of these sooner!
1. Figure out your ideal weight
If you are 5′ 10″ with a stockier build, there’s an ideal weight that matches your body type. Figure out what it is and make it your goal. To figure this out you can always do an internet search for it or ask any diet and fitness professional. This should be your first weight loss goal.
2. Fiber is good for you
When you first start to lose weight you may get constipated. Yes, this does happen more often than we’d probably care to think about. But you should be getting enough fiber in your diet, even if you aren’t trying to lose weight. Fiber is really important as it helps your digestive system flow along while getting the most minerals and nutrients out of your food. Try fiber powders in your drinks.
3. Weight loss before and after photos
I know it sucks to see yourself without your shirt on, but there is no easier way to illustrate your progress than to see how you were before you started losing weight. The “after” pictures are to help you see how your hard work has paid off and are incredibly motivating. This will help your weight loss stay permanent.
4. Join an online support group
When you’re trying to achieve permanent weight loss it’s important to know that other people who share your goals are out there. Being able to talk to others who are going through the same difficulties, who have the same questions, and desiring the same successes will really help your goal for weight loss.
5. Zone out to music
Listen to your favorite music or watch your favorite TV. This will take your mind off of the more grueling exercise that may be uncomfortable for you. When you zone out and listen to music you will be able to work out more efficiently because you won’t be focusing on the pain.
If you haven’t already, fit these 5 tips for weight loss in your plans. They will help you more than you realize!
