So you bought the treadmill, used it every day for the first 2 weeks and now you find it incredibly hard to get yourself to even step unto it. You know you need the exercise and you know that you can lose the weight if only you can get yourself to actually use the darn machine. In reality, owning a treadmill is a huge privilege as it gives you the opportunity to work out at your own pace, on your own time and in the comfort of your own home.
What you really need to get yourself back into training and on to your treadmill is that you need to make it fun again. Its simple. If exercise is a pain and something you hate doing, then you will probably never follow through with the long term plan needed to lose weight. If its fun, then it because easy and losing weight is almost automatic.
One of the easiest ways to make treadmill training fun again is to simply wheel it into your living room while you watch your favorite TV program. You can even load up a DVD and watch something inspirational while you work out. The best thing is that you probably won’t even notice the “pain” of doing any exercise.
Another powerful way to make it fun to train on your treadmill is to incorporate a workout program. There is something about having a program, sticking to it and seeing your progress. Many of the top treadmills come with really great workout programs that allows you to download your actual data unto a website. This allows you to see how you are progressing and if you like gadgets, I suggest you get yourself a heart rate monitor.
If all else fails then maybe you need change of scenery. The real benefit of a treadmill is the fact that you can move it around the house. How about wheeling it outside and have a run out by the pool?
