How stressful is it to try and figure out what to cook for dinner? If you don’t suffer from this dilemma, my hats off to you.
I know my mother in law is a goddess in the kitchen. She has been cooking for so long that she can prepare a complicated recipe in less than an
hour. Her recipes come out good about 90% of the time.
But there are still times when she is stuck with the same question “What should I cook for dinner tonight?”
I had the same problem, I would dwell in the maze of “what to cook for dinner?” all day that by the time it was time to eat I was no where close to figuring out what to cook. So I started thinking about ordering pizza, boiling water for some Cup Noodles, head out to the Golden Arches, or simply steaming some winners and serve them as hot dogs.
But I am now more aware of what that type of diet can do to my body. I refuse to accept the old and easy way of eating, and I’m inclined to believe that if you are going through this, you must know it doesn’t have to be like this.
To make the decision process easier for you, try Keeping a few healthy recipes handy. You can place them on your fridge with a magnet, or buy a little flash card case, and write them down. You can also go out to your nearest book store, and browse around the magazine isle and look at the cooking magazines for ideas on what to make. Cut pictures of the one’s you would like to prepare, and store them for future reference.
Once you have your Healthy Lunch Recipes arsenal selected, you can go shopping for the ingredients. It’s a good idea to make a shopping list of the ingredients before you head out to the Grocery Store. You can Keep this list attached to your fridge with a magnet and jot down food when you run out. This will keep your list available for you to see what you need to restock on.
When you reach the supermarket, stick to your list. Don’t buy anything that isn’t on your list. This will ensure that you are only buying what you need to prepare the recipe. Once you are more familiar with them, you can deviate a bit from them and try different ingredients to it to add your own flavor.
