One of the very first things we learn in our childhood is ‘how to brush our teeth’. Well, back then it seemed a very tedious and, kind of, a very boring job, but now when we look back and inquire why we were forced into doing so, it seems like a blessing in disguise. But, dental care does not start and end with brushing the teeth for there are numerous processes and sub processes involved which makes the dental care complete.
Brushing, no doubt, is one of the most important chapters in Dental Care. In fact, preliminary dental care starts with brushing. But brushing must not be simple two and fro movements of the brush against the teeth. Flushing and gargling must accompany brushing each time. Flushing is also a very important part of dental care for it ensures no food particle is present between the teeth which might induce the growth of cavity. Cavity, no matter how small it is, is a danger to the teeth. It might drag the bearer into unbearable pain and infection. Washing the mouth, preferably with mouth-washer, is indeed another important step. This ensures the absence of any kind of foreign particles in the mouth and also revitalizes the mouth sans any odd smell which is indeed a put off.
If the basic dental care routine is not followed regularly, then people might also suffer from painful dental diseases like gingivitis, periodontitis, dental caries and many more gum diseases. The diseases mentioned here are the most common ones and might affect speech, smile and even the ability to chew properly. In some extreme cases they might even damage the teeth to the extent of losing them, and in some cases, loss of the tongue altogether has also been noticed.
Dental care must be taken regularly and properly. Along with the basic rules learnt during childhood, one must also regularly do flossing, tongue cleaning and washing the mouth properly, if possible, after every meal. One always tends to visit doctors for regular physical checkups, but sadly, these very health conscious people forget to visit the dentist properly. Somehow we have developed the tendency of ignoring the dental health and only get reminded of it when our oral condition deteriorates. So, one must make it a point to visit the dentist at regular intervals and get a thorough check up done for ignoring them might also lead to oral cancer.
Nowadays, there are many other surgeries and dental facilities available which can not only prevent these diseases but also promises to beautify the face as well. Dental implants, porcelain crown or bridges, porcelain veneers are the newest technologies in the town which promises to aesthetically cure any kind of damaged tooth back to its original form, or even to a better form. Those can even change the smile-line for the better and change the personality of the place. So, the next time you’re down with any form of dental disorders, don’t panic but visit the dentist as soon as possible.
The dentists are no less than magicians who can do real wonders without any pain caused to you whatsoever. Hence, chuck all the worries regarding the terrifying pain and suffering, and live healthy by following a great oral health care and visiting the dentist regularly.
