I’ve been a runner for a number of years. It is just a hobby and I do it for my own relaxation and fitness. It keeps me in shape and helps me to feel good. Lately though, my feet and ankles have really been hurting. I’m not sure what is going on but I tried buying new shoes. I tried using old shoes. I tried taking a break from running but my feet still hurt. It is time to find a foot doctor in Houston, Texas.
It is important that I find a reputable foot doctor who has experience with feet and ankle issues in athletes. I called around and scheduled a consultation with a podiatrist that was recommended to me by other runners. The food doctor did a physical exam of my feet, took x-rays, and also talked to me about my pain. He was thorough with his questions as we talked about my activity level, how far and how often I run, and even what I do to relax and get off of my feet. I gave him my health history and then we discussed some ways that I could relieve foot pain, at least until I can get a diagnosis. He said that if the x-rays don’t show anything, then I would come in for an ultrasound and possibly bloodwork.
The foot doctor in Houston, Texas that treated my foot pain was very professional. He was compassionate to my pain issues and gave me a few home remedies to try. I made it clear that I was not going to take pain medicine as I was a naturalist when it came to solving pain issues. He was fine with that and told me to try ice, heat, foot soaking, and even a whirlpool tub.
It took a couple of days for me to get the test results and unfortunately there wasn’t any foot diagnosis. I scheduled an ultrasound as the next step. In the meantime, I was told to stop running and just walk. I also needed to continue with the foot soaking. I am waiting to see the doctor and for more test results. It could be a while before we figure out why my feet have been in so much pain.
